UNION GUARD

History

The Union Guard program boasts a proud history of standard setting programs and performances. This group has won numerous state, regional, and national titles since the mid 1980's. Highlights include being crowned the 1985, 1987, and 1988 Winter Guard International (WGI) Scholastic champions, the 1986 Silver medalist, the 2001 Bronze medalist, as well as being awarded the 1986, 1990 and 1994 Bands of America (BOA) National Auxiliary champions. Additionally, the winter guard earned WGI World Championship Semifinalist status in 2011, WGI finalist status in 1994, 1996, 1998, 2010 and 2015.

Student Opportunities

The Union Guard winter program serves Middle School students: 7th Graders (elective course) & 8th Graders (elective course + competitive opportunities).

9th-12th Graders, also enrolled in elective coursework, perform in the Fall Semester as part of the Union H.S. Renegade Regiment Marching Band, and in the Spring Semester competing in skill-appropriate Winter Guard ensembles.
