Marching Band Information General Meeting - March 12 at 7 pm

Applications are being accepted now through February 12th at 11:59 PM.

Where does the membership money go?

The membership dollars go in to the UBPC general fund.  This account is used to fund various expenses that we do not want to have to charge in regular student fees.

What do the UBPC members do?

UBPC members are mostly parents that want the best band experience for their students.  The band parent/UBPC member experience is different for everyone, depending on the amount of time each person has available to commit.  Generally speaking, members volunteer, attend UBPC meetings, fundraise, watch practices together, help with special events, travel with the band, chaperone on trips, provide hospitality for judges and other events, make friends with other parents and cheer on the band.  UBPC members are there to answer questions (especially for 1st year marching students – yikes!) and support you when your student graduates (try not to think about it – it will be here before you know it!)

Company donations or donation matching

Some companies will match or donate if you volunteer! Don’t hesitate to ask! Some of our band parents have received hundreds of dollars in donations just by asking!

We have a lot of things coming up - take the time to check in with your employer and see if they are able to provide any donations or do donation matching? Many companies have money set aside for gifting to non-profits. This would be a tremendous help and keep our pockets from continuously being empty!

We can put together a donation sheet - an idea is to include shout outs in our Weekly Beats of the company that donates. We may even be able to put sponsors on our shirts. Ideas I will have to run by the board - but look for more information on that soon!

Pay online with a credit card directly through your CHARMS  account. Please pay into your MISCELLANEOUS LEDGER only.

  1. Send your payment with your student to be placed in the safe in the band office at school.

  2. Mail your check payments to: Union Band Parent Club, Inc.,  P.O. Box 471915, Tulsa, OK ,  74147-1915 (make checks payable to UBPC and include your student's name in the memo section).

Summer Arts Institute 2024

Applications and auditions are being accepted for the 2024 Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain (OSAI) until February 12, 2024. High schoolers, including graduating seniors, have the opportunity to study acting, chorus, creative writing, dance, drawing & painting, film & video, orchestra, or photography on a full scholarship and we encourage you to pass this information along to your students and their parents.

OSAI is an intensive 2-week residential academy that provides professional training to artistically advanced Oklahoma high school students, including graduating seniors, in the visual, literary, and performing arts. All students who are accepted into OSAI attend on a full scholarship, and our goal is to make sure that every eligible student is aware of this unique program.

Now is the time for students to start their application and prepare themselves for the audition process. This year, all disciplines will submit their audition materials online. The audition requirements can be found by visiting this page, selecting a discipline, and downloading the corresponding Applicant Guide.

Applications are open now and students have until February 12, 2024 at 11:59 P.M. to upload their audition materials. Students may audition for up to three (3) disciplines.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call OSAI at 405.605.7500 or email oai@oaiquartz.org.
