STUDENT ITINERARY

FRIDAY, October 25: PRELIMS DAY

  • 5:45am  Building unlocked (note: please do NOT arrive prior to 5:45am) 

  • 6:15am  Call time + team meeting in BR1. Luggage should be left outside on bus loop.

  • 6:45am  Load Buses

    • (FL-CL-B.CL-SAX-TPT-MELLO-EUPH) instruments on or beneath the bus

  • 7:15am  Depart UHS 

  • approx 9:30am Breakfast served

  • 2:30pm  Arrive hotel and check into rooms. Embassy Suites in St. Charles, MO. 

  • 3:00pm  Lunch at the hotel

  • 4:00pm  Dress into costume + show hair

    • (Winds/Perc: sliders + black tank top + black socks) 

  • 5:00pm  Load buses

  • 5:30pm  Depart hotel

    • Snack served on bus

  • 6:30pm  Arrive at The Dome at America's Center in Downtown St. Louis. Unload trucks.

  • 6:45pm  Prepare to walk to Warm-up

    • TBA Physical WarmUp: Winds, Battery, Guard (Area TBA)

    • TBA Front Ensemble WarmUp (Area TBA)

    • TBA Physical Music WarmUp: Winds & Battery (Area TBA)

    • TBA Front Ensemble / Props report to dock

    • TBA Winds, Battery, Guard report to tunnel

  • 8:30pm  PRELIMS Performance [Live Stream]

  • 8:45pm Move equipment to trucks / buses. Load

    • (FL-CL-B.CL-SAX-TPT-MELLO-EUPH) instruments on or beneath the bus

  • 10:00pm  Depart for hotel

  • 10:45pm  Arrive hotel. Dress out of costume.

  • 11:00pm  Pizza served

  • 11:30pm Curfew (IN ROOMS) + Lights Out

SATURDAY, OctoBEr 26: FINALS DAY

  • 7:00am Breakfast buffet opens in hotel lobby. 

  • 7:15am Latest wake-up time. 

  • 8:45am Check out of hotel & load luggage onto buses. (ATTIRE: Show shirt, red member shorts OR jeans, member hoodie)

  • 9:30am Depart hotel for rehearsal

  • 10:00am Arrive at rehearsal site, unload, set up (Lutheran High School North, 5401 Lucas and Hunt Rd, St. Louis, MO 63121)

  • 10:15am RRehearsal

  • 1:00pm Load trucks + Lunch served 

  • 2:00pm ATTIRE: change from shorts to jeans if not already wearing jeans (required)

  • 2:15pm Load buses 

    • (FL-CL-B.CL-SAX-TPT-MELLO-EUPH) instruments on or beneath the bus

  • 2:30pm Depart rehearsal site for the Downtown STL

  • 3:15pm Arrive Downtown STL

    • HOTEL MARRIOTT GRAND

      • Take sling bags to hotel storage room

      • (FL-CL-B.CL-SAX-TPT-MELLO-EUPH) from bus to hotel storage room

    • Walk from Marriott Grand to Dome

      • attend prelims awards ceremony. 

      • When walking as a group into the dome and stadium seating, your show shirt must be full visible (no jackets over). 

  • 4:45pm/5:00pm Walk as a group from the Dome to the Marriott St. Louis Grand

  • 5:15pm Dinner at Marriott, team meeting

    • TBA Dress into costume

    • TBA Loading Crew/Percussion depart Marriott St. Louis Grand

    • TBA Remaining Band/Guard depart for the Dome parking lot

  • TBA Prepare to walk to WarmUp

    • TBA Physical WarmUp: Winds, Battery, Guard (Area TBA)

    • TBA Front Ensemble WarmUp (Area TBA)

    • TBA Music WarmUp: Winds & Battery (Area TBA)

    • TBA   Front Ensemble / props report to dock

    • TBA Winds/Guard/Battery report to tunnel

  • TBA FINALS Performance [Live Stream]

  • TBA Celebrate, Pre-Load Trucks

  • TBA Walk to Dome, watch other performances if time allows

  • 11:30pm  Retreat (Finals Awards, AKA “Massing”)

SUNDAY, October 27: TRAVEL HOME

  • 12:30am (approx.) Walk from Dome back to Marriott St. Louis Grand to dress out of costume, snack, bathroom, reload buses

    • (FL-CL-B.CL-SAX-TPT-MELLO-EUPH) instruments on or beneath the bus

Parents who wish to check their child out (student not traveling to Tulsa on the bus) must email travel@unionbands.com in advance.  After the student is out of uniform and all responsibilities have been fulfilled, please check the student out with their director and sign them off of the bus roster with their appointed bus captain. 

  • 1:30am (approx) Depart Marriott for Tulsa 

  • TBA  Drivers stops en route

  • 9:00am  (approx) Arrive at Union High School, unload & clean buses, dismiss


WHAT TO PACK? 

  • LUGGAGE

    • Small suitcase or medium duffle. No large bags or suitcases are allowed. 

  • PERFORMANCE ATTIRE & GEAR

    • Tank compression shirt

    • Sliders (2 pairs)

    • Marching shoes (if not already on the uniform cart )

    • Long black socks (2 pairs)

    • RED member shorts as cover-up during dressing

    • Big-U/RR shirt as cover-up during dressing

  • PERFORMANCE ATTIRE & GEAR - GUARD

    • please refer to any additional info from Ms. Hubbard

  • EVENT ATTENDANCE ATTIRE

    • Show shirt (this item will be distributed on Thurs PM or possibly during the course of the trip)

    • GRAY member hoodie

    • Jeans

    • Comfortable shoes

  • TRAVEL WEAR & GEAR 

    • Travel clothing (suggest: shorts / sweatpants / long or short sleeve t-shirts / etc.)

    • Comfortable shoes / flip-flops / etc. for long bus rides and other down-time 

    • Backpack / duffle / sling bag

    • Jacket / hoodie

    • Pillow & blanket

    • Homework / book

    • Phone / charger / battery pack

    • DVDs (G, PG, PG-13)

    • Snacks (drink bottles must have screw-top lid)

    • Extra $ if desired for souvenirs, etc. (all meals are provided)

    • Personal / portable electronic devices must have headphones / ear buds

  • Personal Care & Wear

    • Deodorant

    • Soap

    • Shampoo & hair care

    • Other cosmetic and/or hygiene items as pertinent

    • Undergarments

    • Sleepwear

    • Medications: please check in with our trip nurse.

  • WHAT ELSE?

    • Small suitcase or large duffle = your luggage. No large bags or suitcases are allowed.  We recommend pre-packing the change of clothes for the Saturday night / Sunday AM overnight bus trip in the bus duffle bag.

  • BRING VALUABLES ONLY AT YOUR OWN RISK 

  • DO NOT BRING

    • Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco Products, Weapons

OVERNIGHT PARKING ON CAMPUS

If planning to park your vehicle on campus throughout the duration of the trip, please park in the UHS NORTHEAST VISTORS LOT.
