UHS Bands Spring Concert: Concert Winds, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble

TIMES

  • AUDIENCE

    • UPAC Audience DOORS OPEN at 6:45pm

  • STUDENT ARRIVAL

    • Concert Winds students will begin warm-up at 6:00pm on the UPAC Stage

    • Symphonic Band students will begin warm-up at 6:15pm in Band Room #3.

    • Symphonic Winds students will begin warm-up at 6:30pm in Band Room #1

    • Wind Ensemble students will begin warm-up at 6:30pm in Band Room #2

  • PERFORMANCES

    • The order of performances is Concert Winds, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Winds, and then Wind Ensemble.

    • Following the last piece of the final group, all students will turn in their concert attire, originally checked out in summer/fall of 2024. See all details and policies here.

STUDENT POLICIES

  • Students will wear the school-issue formal concert attire as the mandatory dress for this performance.

  • Students will observe each other’s performances.

Location: Union High School Performing Arts Center

Student Dress: All Black (see details in Canvas announcement)

Student Call Time: 6:30pm

  • Campus Entry: students are encouraged to enter campus from the south, entering the PAC/GYM Lobby doors and proceeding to the UPAC Backstage and Classroom areas, or to enter via the bus loop drop off point (east side of the campus off of Mingo)

  • Warm-Up locations

    • Concert Band students meet on Stage

    • Symphonic Band students meet in the orchestra room (Rm. # 1610)

UPAC Doors Open for Audience entry at 6:45pm

Concert Begins: 7:00pm

SCHEDULE

  • AUDIENCE

    • UPAC Audience DOORS OPEN at 6:50pm

  • STUDENT ARRIVAL

    • Concert Winds students will begin warm-up at 6:30pm on the UPAC stage.

    • Symphonic Band students will begin warm-up at 6:30pm in Band Room #2.

    • Symphonic Band students will begin warm-up at 7:00pm in Band Room #1.

    • Wind Ensemble students will begin warm-up at 7:15pm in Band Room #2

  • PERFORMANCES

    • First Half of the concert begins at 7:00pm with: Concert Winds followed by Symphonic Band

    • Second Half of the concert begins at approx 7:40pm with: Symphonic Winds followed by Wind Ensemble

  • We encourage attendee arrival to the concert at least 15 minutes prior to your student’s portion of the concert, to ensure that you don’t miss any portion of the performance if the event happens to run ahead of schedule. Even better, we encourage attending the entirety of the concert!

STUDENT POLICIES

  • Students will wear the school-issue formal concert attire as the mandatory dress for this performance.

  • Concert Winds students will observe the Symphonic Band students’ performance, and vice-versa.

  • Symphonic Winds students will observe the Wind Ensemble students’ performance, and vice-versa.

Percussion Showcase Concert

WHAT: 14th-Annual Union Percussion Spring Showcase Concert
WHERE: UPAC @ Union High School
ADMISSION: Free to the Public

Union Public Schools percussion students from band classes in grades 6-12 will present the 13th-Annual Union Percussion Spring Showcase Concert.  This enriching program will include musical performances using snare drums, timpani, marimbas, bells, xylophones, ethnic drums, cymbals, bass drums, shakers and a multiplicity of other percussion instruments, as well as some items the audience might not have previously considered to be instruments!  A highlight of the program will be the closing piece, combining nearly 90 Union percussionists at all levels for an exciting finale!
