NBDA POLICIES
Absence from a full morning, afternoon, or evening rehearsal session will result in the automatic termination of the participant.
The band chairperson will deal with any absence or substantial tardiness after consultation with the clinician and the student’s band director. The chairperson’s decision will be final.
The band chairperson will also have the authority and responsibility to lower chair positions and/or remove the student from the band if his/her conduct in any way become a problem. The chairperson is expected to support the clinician in matters concerning student conduct.
If a student is not able to attend the clinic or concert, please have your director contact the district president so an alternate can be contacted. In addition, please send your folder with your director to the clinic for the other players to use.

INFORMATION FOR SPECTATING VISITORS
Admission is free.
Spectator parking is in the general student parking lot located to the south of Union High School’s South Entry (labeled “PAC/Gym”).
Spectators must present photo ID which will be scanned into the security system, and a visitor badge printed.
Entry to the PAC is located just beyond the security checkpoint.

Greetings, and thank you for joining us for the 2024 Oklahoma Bandmasters Association Middle School Concert Band Festival at Tulsa Union High School on Thursday, February 29.

General Information
Upon arrival, please be prepared to submit:
2 sets of conductor scores
An ensemble seating chart
Please plan to be in performance attire for the duration of your time on campus. Restrooms will of course be available, however our spaces are inadequate for the purpose of students changing into or out of performance attire.
No food or drink other than bottled water is allowed in the PAC.
Every group deserves a proper environment in which to perform. Please review concert etiquette prior to arrival.
Please remind students to remain quiet when transiting to the warm-up, concert, & clinic spaces.
Please clearly mark all equipment and be sure to collect it before leaving. Percussion stands are items commonly left behind.
A guide will assist each ensemble in navigating the event site and performance flow.
Ensemble Warm-up will begin 30 minutes before your scheduled performance time, with a transition to the stage 5 minutes before the scheduled performance.
Parents are welcome to attend your performances! Spectators must park in the general student parking lot located to the south of Union High School’s South Entry, which is labeled “PAC/Gym”. School is in session, therefore spectators must present photo ID which will be scanned into the security system, and a visitor badge printed. Entry to the PAC is located just beyond the security checkpoint.

Performance & Clinic Info
Mike Lowery will serve as Master of Ceremony for the event. Please plan for Mr. Lowery to introduce your band before the conductor enters the stage.
Two clinicians will evaluate your performance, providing audio-recorded commentary; one the evaluators will work with your band during the clinic portion.
Evaluator recorded commentary will be provided through Competition Suite and will be available immediately after the performance.
An audio recording of your ensemble's performance will be provided in a Google link following the ensemble’s performance, sent to the director’s email address.
The Clinic will be approx. 25 minutes in duration and may likely begin earlier than the time indicated on the schedule.
Percussion & Other Instrument Logistical Details
Please bring all sticks/mallets, including Bass Drum beaters, Chimes mallets, Tam-Tam beaters, etc, as well as all auxiliary instruments, accessories, non-traditional instruments (small or large), toms, and snare drums. Please bring all stands and hardware.
Provided on both the Stage and in the Clinic spaces are “large percussion instruments on wheels”:

Please remind your students that we are on an open school campus. Please use all crosswalks and marked pathways, and follow posted signage.
Restrooms are available in the Band Building and in the PAC lobby; these are the only restrooms permitted for student use during the event.
